Tonight is a special event at the Laff House. Comedian Sugar Bear will be hosting his monthly show "Funny Money"!

Here's how Funny Money works:

We're sure you're familiar with "street performers" who ask for tips, like the ones we have here on South street. What Sugar Bear does is bring comedians to the Laff House for your viewing pleasure, and you get to tip the comedian with whatever amount you see fit. The funnier you think the comic is, the better you can tip!

Show time is at 8 PM and tickets are $10

We have a special show for everyone tonight at the Laff House! Freddie Ricks is doing not one, not two, but THREE consecutive shows tonight at 8, 10, and Midnight! So we'll have comedy at all hours of the night tonight. Why not make it a night with Dinner and Show? Stop by our Blue Banana Cafe' for our world famous caribbean platters and see one of the shows after!

Nothing pairs up quite like Caribbean food and comedy, that's why we at the Laff House comedy club opened The Blue Banana Cafe', Philadelphia's best Caribbean food establishment. Why not take mom out tonight for dinner before the show tonight with Arvin Mitchell? Our Show times are at 8:30 PM and 10:45 PM. So stop in before the show and have one of the special items we have on our Mother's Day menu!

Comedian Arvin Mitchell has hit the comedy scene running since his debut on BET's Coming to the Stage in 2003. Mitchell's runner-up status on the comedy reality show turned him into a household name with audiences both young and not so young. His clean comedic style along with his hilarious impressions have made him a hit for the college circuit and corporate engagements that include the Kentucky Derby Grand Gala Reception, the St. Louis Premiere of The Longest Yard, and the Marshall Faulk Charity Extravaganza. Arvin Mitchell has also starred in two gospel hit plays, A House Divided ( Fox Theater- STL, Norfolk, Peoria) and If They Only Knew ( Wichita, Oklahoma City).

As the former bartender and co-host of BET's Club Comic View and host of Spring Bling 21 Questions, Arvin Mitchell has attracted fans in the U.S. and abroad. His television appearances have helped him become one of the hottest comedians on the college circuit. From hosting stepshows and charity events to headlining comedy shows, Arvin Mitchell has set a blazing trail performing at colleges across the country. In addition, Arvin Mitchell has spread laughter to the troops in Stuggart, Germany.

"Laff Away Thursday" TONIGHT MAY 6 @ 830PM

Once again it's on...Philly's hottest new comedy show "Laff Away Thursday" steps to the stage tonight Thursday May 6 at the world famous Laff House starring headliner HOWARD G (of BET's "Comic View" and HBO's "Def Comedy Jam"). HOWARD G is a hilarious dude and a crowd fave you don't want to miss. South Street is a great place to hang out especially in awesome weather like we've been having this past week-- so come down and check out the comedy party everybody is talking about!! Also on tonight's show are Philly funny guys including JACK MARTIN, JOHN KENSIL, ERIC MACK, CHRIS OSBORNE + guest host GENE NORRIS.
